Salt Lake Tribune, The (UT) - May 25, 2001 HINCKLEY - Joyce Walker Nielsen, passed away suddenly May 22, 2001 of a pulmonary embolism. Born July 19th, 1926 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the ninth child of Leonard S. and Edith Walker. Raised on a farm in Lindon, Utah, with 14 siblings. Her special tie to identical twin sister Joan created many fun times and surprises. Spent time as a young woman helping at home and on the farm. Received her education in Lindon and Pleasant Grove schools. Graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1944. Married, Douglas Earl Nielsen in the Salt Lake Temple on August 12, 1946. Celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 1996. Married years were spent in Lindon. An active member of the LDS Church, where she served faithfully in all organizations. Taught the guide patrol class for many years and served with her husband, a mission to Dublin, Ireland, Provo Utah and Manti Utah Temples and MTC. Spent latter years of life in Hinckley, Utah. Survived by husband: Douglas, Hinckley; sons: H (Michelle), Delta; Steven, Hinckley; Dr. Ronald (Cindy), Lehi; Kim (Alayna), Oak City and daughter: Cyndi (Mike) Robison, Fairview; daughter-in-law, Caren Anderson, Delta; 31 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by oldest son: Tommy W., granddaughter, KeriLynn Nielsen and siblings, Harold Walker, Henson Walker, and Madge Tucker, brothers and sisters - Letha Hanson, LaPreal Crystal, Ray Walker, Reed Walker, Joan Hilton (twin), Gayle Blackham, Burdene Shores, Jean Harris, Boyd Walker, Royce Walker, Judy Pyne. Funeral Services Friday, May 25, 2001, 11 a.m., Delta West Stake Center,188 N. Main, Hinckley. Friends call May 24, 7-8 p.m. at Nickle Mortuary, Delta, 7-8 p.m. and at Church Friday, 10-10:40 a.m. Burial Delta Cemetery.
