Bio

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, 88, of American Fork, left this mortal existence on July 7, 2003 and returned to the arms of her eternal companion. Letha was born October 25, 1914 in Lindon, Utah to Leonard S. and Edith Stagg Walker, the oldest of 15 children. She married her sweetheart, Joseph B. Hanson on December 23, 1933 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Joe passed away in 2002. Letha grew up on the family farm in Lindon. She attended school in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. She was a school lunch worker and manager for 25 years in the American Fork schools. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and enjoyed her time working in the Provo Temple. She was active in the PTA and was a member of the Literary League. Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her sweetheart Joe, enjoying outdoor activities. Letha leaves a legacy for her family by her example of unconditional love. We will miss her smile and the sparkle in her eye. She is survived by her six children: Connie (Walt) Bowen, Pleasant Grove; Paul (Lois) Hanson, Texas; Dennis Hanson, Georgia; Kent (Bonna) Hanson and DeeAnn (Robert) Buchanan both of Alpine; Geri (Mike) Smith, Cedar Hills; 41 grandchildren, 102 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
