Bio

Martin Petter, 94, of Leroy died Friday evening in West Community Hospital. Services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Capel in West with Rev. Robert Burgess officiating. Burial followed in Gerald Cemetery. Mr. Petter was born Nov. 9, 1882, in Czechoslovakia. He came to the United States when he was 13. He lived in Central Texas most of his life and had lived in Leroy the past two years. Mr. Petter was a retired farmer and laborer. His wife, Julie, died June 8, 1958 (sh-be July 8, 1958). Survivors include one son, Ernest Petter of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Rudolph (Christine) Altus of Leroy and Mrs. Albina Urbanovsky of Waco; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Walter Dulock, Bill Silaff, Arnold A. Gerik, Albin Petter, Ernest Kelinski and Laddie Halamik. The West News, January 20, 1977
