Bio

Anton E. Grabowski, was born near Ashton, Nebraska on May 25, 1902. He was the son of Andrew and Katherine Furtak Grabowski. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on January 9, 1980 at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 14 days. He spent his childhood on his parents farm and received his education in the public and parochial schools in Ashton. On July 2, 1949 he was united in marriage to Marie D. Kowalski. They were married in St. Patrick's Church in Scotia, Nebraska. They farmed near Ashton, Nebraska. In 1956 the family moved to Aurora, where he has since resided. He was a longtime employee of Grain Elevators, starting with Farmers Grain and Supply. He was later employed by Dowd Grain Company and remained with them when they changed to Morrison and Quirk and then to Cargill. At an early age he was baptized and later received his First Communion and was Confirmed in the Catholic Faith. Since residing in Aurora he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish. Tony, as he was known to his friends and family, was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters. His survivors include his wife, Marie; one son, Paul of Lincoln, Nebraska; three daughters, Joan Grabowski and Patricia Traxler both of Aurora and Susan Stahr of York, Nebraska; two brothers, Joe of Cairo, Nebraska and Andrew of Loup City, Nebraska; four sisters, Mary Kaputstka of Lincoln, Hattie Waskowiak of Lup City, Barbara Kaminski of Dubuque, Iowa and Maggie Koslicki of Grand Island; 6 grandchildren, David, Daniel and Patrick Traxler; Sara Marie Grabowski, Jason and Lisa Stahr and many other relatives and close friends.
