The Wellington Leader October 19, 1989 Graveside services for Mrs. Jess (Merle) Motsenbocker of Arlington were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 14 in North Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Motsenbocker died in Arlington, where she had lived for a number of years. Elder G.H. Crain, minister of a Primitive Baptist Church in Arlington, officiated. Services at Arlington were held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Moore Funeral Chapel. Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Inc., were in charge of arrangements here. Mrs. Motsenbocker, the former Merle Shanks, was born in Brownwood, Texas, February 4, 1907. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. David Shanks. She came to Wellington as a girl with her family. Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Nell Motsenbocker of Arlington; two grandchildren; Jessica Motsenbocker and Dana Motsenbocker of Arlington; one sister, Ione Hughes of Alexandria, Louisiana and one brother, Cecil Shanks of Wellington.
