Ludmila was born December 9, 1926 in Dwight, NE to Joseph and Ludmila (Rejda) Coufal. She grew up on a farm near Dwight attended grade school and high school there. On January 28, 1948, she was married to George L. Meduna at Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. They lived on a farm near Weston, NE for a few years and moved to a farm near Wahoo, NE where they lived for many years. In 1964 they moved into Wahoo where Ludmila worked for several years at Fairview Café. She died September 6, 2010 in Lincoln, NE at the age of 83 years. Ludmila had been a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and a member of the PCCW. She had been devoted to saying the rosary every day. She always enjoyed raising a big garden and plenty of flowers. Ludmila used to do embroidering, sewing and baking. She loved her grandchildren, going out to eat and going for drives in the country. Ludmila is survived by her son George J. Meduna, Lincoln; daughters and sons in law Mary Ann and Chris High, Janice and Mark Meyerson, all Lincoln, Tim Nelson, Malmo, NE; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brothers Ted (Evelyn) Coufal, Brainard, NE, Richard (Marcy) Coufal, Dwight, NE; sisters Celestine Vandenberg, Brainard, Florence (Gilbert) Kobza, Seward, NE, Geraldine Coufal, David City, NE; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband George L. Meduna, daughter Diane Nelson and infant sister Adeline Coufal. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Sept. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo with Rev. Charles Townsend officiating. Interment will be at St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation Friday, Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. with rosary/scripture service at 7 p.m. all at Svoboda Funeral Home; also one hour visitation before service Saturday. Casket bearers are Nick High, Kyle Meyerson, Christopher Nelson, Chris High, Mark Meyerson and Tim Nelson.
