Anne Rose Sive, 100, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. Born in St. Josephs, MO, Anne was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Monday Club and the Holy Rosary Sodality. She also worked at Parkview Hospital for 7 years until 1984 and was one of the original Women's Professional Basketball players in MO. "She was our mother and the anchor of the family and will be truly missed". Surviving are her sons, Richard (Ramona) Sive of Fort Wayne and Kenneth J. (Sharon) Sive of Naperville, IL; daughters, Shirley (Howard "Duke") Niebur of Rockville, MD and Marianne (Earl) Halstead of Mooresville, NC; brother, George Schultz of Colorado Springs, CO; 10 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Anne was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Charles Sive; son, Charles J. Sive in 1944; parents, John and Rose Schultz; brothers, Nicholas, Thomas, Andrew, and John; sister, Elizabeth Climax; granddaughter, Renee Lynn. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30am Wednesday at St. Anne Home Chapel, 1900 Randallia Drive, Fr. John Overmyer officiating, with calling one hour prior. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital or Riley Chidren's Hospital.
