Sargent Leader December 5, 1996 LEOLA H.AMOS Leola (Lee) H. (Bisher) Amos away at the Valley County Hospital in Ord, NE on November 24, 1996, after declining health for the pest year. Leola was bom to William and Kate (Woods) Bisher on June 28, 1908 at Taylor, NE. She attended rural schools and high school in Taylor. On November 21, 1931 Leola was united in marriage to Lome Lee Amos in North Platte, NE. To this union four children were bom: LaVem who passed away in 1974, Karol Dean who passed away in 1942, Karron Deloris, and Betty Jean. Mr. and Mrs. Amos made their home in Sargent their first year of marriage and then farmed the family farm in Dry Valley Community, south of Sargent until retirement. After the passing of Mr. Amos, Leola stayed in Scotia for a short period of time. In 1985 Mrs. Amos purchased a home in Burwell where she remained until about six weeks ago, then she went to stay with her daughter Karron in Scotia, NE. Preceding Leola in death were her husband Lorne; sons LaVern and Karol; her parents William and Kate (Woods) Bisher and three brothers: William, Arthur and Alvia and three sisters Lillie (Bisher) Ray, Fannie Bisher, Maybelle (Bisher) Moon and a son-in-law Stanley Scott. Survivors include two daughters, Alvin and Karron Miller of Scotia and Rich and Betty (Scott) Meyer of Bunnell; five grandsons: Alvin J. Miller and wife Tammy of Watertown, SD, Roy D. Miller and wife Sarah of Lyons, NE, SSGT Ronald C. Miller, stationed in the Air Force in Turkey, wife Donna, Scotia, NE, Franklin L. Miller, Burwell, Michael D. Scott, Maraiderson, SD; nine great grandchildren: Alvin O., Miranda, Shane and Alyase Miller (children of Alvin), Eric and Heidi Miller (children of Roy), Jessica, Ronald W. and Josephine Miller (children of Ronald; three sisters: Nina (Giles) Perry of Ontario, Oregon, Evelyne Dent of Grand Island, NE and Kathryn Darges of Ord; one brother John (Tex) Bisher of Alpine, Wyoming. Funeral services were held November 27, 1996, 2:00 p.m. at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent, NE. with interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sargent, NE. Murray Peer officiated and music was provided by Mark and Roberta DeFord, singers and Robin Anderson, organist. Pallbearers were Tom H or ley, Dsnn Gibbons, Kenneth Peyton, Richard Dent, Mike Marshall, and Cliffs Olson.
