Sargent Leader January 28, 1988 Claris Amos services held Services were held for Claris Amos, 86, of Sargent on Wednes­day, Dec. 23, at the Rhoad Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Hasselquist officiating. Music was provided by Jane Hasselquist and Leaha Penny. Pallbearers were Danny Gibbens, Larry Young, Ted Anderson, Alvin Miller, Richard Meyer and Ken­neth Amos. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Sargent with Rhoad Funeral Home in charge of ar­rangements. Claris Amos was born April 28, 1901 to William and Eva Campbell Amos in the Dry Valley vicinity He attended school at Dry Valley and Sargent. He married Pearl Gibbens in Ca­nyon City. CO., Dec 1, 1923. He and his wife returned to his farm in Dry Valley. Four children were born to this union: Gwendoly­ Goelting of Kansas City, KS; William Amos oi Lincoln; Duane Amos of Virginia Beach, VA; and Janet Lindsay of Marysville, KS. He and his family moved to Shubert, NE, in 1937 where he farmed and worked at carpenter work before retiring in 1977 He and his wife moved back to Sargent in March 1984. He is survived by his wife, four children, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and one sister, Marie Looney and husband of Santa Barbara, California.
