Herald Coaster, November 27, 2000: Otto Mike Pastor, 77, of Hungerford, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000 in Houston. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley, with Father Henry Rachunek officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Pastor, Marshall Pastor, Patrick Pastor, Roy Pastor, James Pastor, and Earl Pastor. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmie Tiemann and Michael Whitlock. Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Wharton Funeral Home. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Wharton Funeral Home, 515 Boling Highway, in Wharton. Mr. Pastor was born Dec. 27, 1922 in Sugar Land, the son of Michael and Vlasta Ann Shula Pastor. He was a long-time resident of Fort Bend County before moving to Glen Flora. He had been a resident of Hungerford for the past two years. He was a graduate of Beasley High School and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Virginia Wleczyk on June 23, 1956 in East Bernard. Mr. Pastor worked as a pumper and gauger for various independent oil companies for 30 years and most recently was a self-employed rancher. He was a member of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton, the Rosenberg American Legion, and was a former member of the Richmond Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Pastor of Hungerford; sons and daughter-in-law, John Michael Pastor of Hungerford, Marshall Leslie Pastor of Alvin, and Patrick Pierre Pastor and his wife, Sharon, of Houston; a sister, Maxine Buzek of San Antonio; brothers, Lamar Pastor and Sidney Pastor, both of Beasley, and Lionel Pastor of East Bernard; grandchildren, Catherine Elizabeth Pastor and Jacob Hayden Pastor, both of Needville, and Michael Phillip Pastor and Alexander Pierre Pastor, both of Houston. Mr. Pastor was preceded in death by a sister, Vlasta Bee Pastor, and a brother, Basil Pastor. Arrangements were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton. (979) 532-3410.
