Herald Coaster, April 9, 1975: Basil Leslie Pastor, 47, of Beasley, was killed in a car-motorcycle accident Tuesday night one-half mile west of Beasley on U.S. 59. Pastor was pronounced dead on arrival at Richmond's Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital. The accident occurred shortly before midnight when his motorcycle was struck from the rear. Funeral services for Pastor will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday from St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Beasley, with the Rev. Henry Rachunek officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a lifelong resident of the Beasley area. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Maxine Buzek of San Antonio; four brothers, Mike Pastor of Thompson, Lamar H. Pastor, Lionel Pastor, and Sidney Pastor, all of Beasley. Friends may call by the Garmany & Co. Funeral Home Chapel in Rosenberg after 6 p.m. today. Rosary will be recited at the chapel at 8 p.m. tonight.
