Roy Samuel McCormick of Glendo, 88, died Thursday, May 5, 1988 at the Poplar Living Center in Casper following a long illness. He was born Feb. 20, 1900 at Clearwater, Nebraska to George W. McCormick, Sr. and Nellie (Ingalsbe) McCormick. He was reared and educated at Clearwater and Harrison, Nebraska. He came to Lusk with his family in the late 1920s, where they ranched. He moved to the Glendo area in about 1932 and began ranching and farming east of Glendo. He married Jennie Blaha Ziska in the mid-1930s. She died in 1945. He was then married to Minnie Spellman Baker on March 4, 1947 in Douglas. She died in 1975. He continued to ranch and farm at Glendo until 1984, when he retired and moved to Casper. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; an infant son from his first wife; and three brothers, George McCormick, Jr., Addison McCormick and Ralph McCormick. He is survived by three sisters, Hattie Bryant and Nellie Martin, both of Wheatland, and Esther Ryder of Douglas; three step-daughters, Violet Stringham of Casper, Marie May of Riverton and Betty Peterson of Evansville; one step-son, Bill Ziska of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
