Bio
Esther Rose Ryder, 87, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 1994 at Michael Manor in Douglas. She was the daughter of George and Nellie (Ingalsbe) McCormick. She attended school in Nebraska and finished high school in Wheatland, Wyoming. She attended Chadron Normal College, received her teacher's certificate and taught school two years before marrying Edward M. Ryder on May 30, 1932, in Hot Springs, S.D. They had two children, Gloria Kay Haralson and Edward Keith Rider. The family built a home and settled in Douglas in 1938. After her daughter graduated from high school, she returned to college and received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Wyoming. She taught school in Douglas for two years and in Glenrock for 26 years, retiring in 1971. She is survived by her two children, Kay of Poway, California and Keith Ryder of Navajo, Arizona; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 9; and six brothers and sisters. (Information was obtained from her obituary and cemetery records.)
