John F. Heger son of John and Sophie Heger.John F. Heger married Ida Leona Heger on July 8,1931. ------------------- John F. Heger, president of First State Bank of Weimar for 38 years, died of a heart attack Tuesday, April 30, in Seguin. He was 76. Funeral services were held Friday, May 3, from St. Michael's Catholic Church, with burial in the parish cemetery. Officiating ministers were Bishop Charles V. Grahmann of Victoria, Father Charles Carolan and Father Gregory O'Connor of Weimar, Msgr. Alois Goertz of San Antonio, and Father Walter Matus of Granger. Pallbearers were grandsons Carl Zatopek, James Heger, Michael Heger and Thomas Untermeyer, and nephews Edwin Joseph Haidusek, John Barta, and Paul Oncken. Heger had been with the Weimar bank for 56 years, starting as a teller in 1928. He had served as president since January 7, 1947. He was a member of Texas Bankers Association and American Bankers Association. He was a member of Weimar Council 2153 Knights of Columbus and in 1977 was named to the Knights of St. Gregory. He was also a member of Weimar Lions Club, KJT, Hermann Sons Lodge, and Weimar Chamber of Commerce, of which he was a past president. John Frank Heger was born May 22, 1908, in the Weimar area, the son of John and Sophie (Knebel) Heger. He attended Tyler Commercial College. He married Ida Gold here on July 8,1931. His wife survives him, along with three sons, John H. Heger of Houston, George Heger of Granger and James Heger of Weimar, two daughters, Patricia Zatopek of La Grange and Jane Untermeyer of Houston, nine grandchildren, and three sisters, Agnes Oncken, Mary Barta, and Frances Haidusek, all of Weimar An infant brother, George, and a sister, Ludmilla, aged 4, preceded him in death.
