Son of Ruben "Rube" Beard and Clara Levassar, husband of Mary Lou Brooks married August 29, 1969. Their children: Garnett Beard, Michael Beard, Darlene Beard, Serena Beard, Valdosta Beard and Diana Beard. ******************* Garnett L. Beard Services for Garnett L. Beard, 61, Frankston, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Frankston with the Rev. J.A. Griffin officiating. Mr. Beard died Monday at a Tyler hospital. He was born July 20, 1933 in Frankston and was a lifelong resident. He served in the U.S. Army, was a registered public surveyor and co-owner of the Elkhart Golf Course. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Beard of Frankston; two sons, Michael L. Beard and Garnett Beard Jr., both of Frankston; four daughters, Mary Moore of Elkhart, Diana Davis of Palestine, Darlene Hayward of Lancaster and Serena Bell of Moody, Ga.; one brother, Ruben Beard of Frankston; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
