Daughter of LaFayette Brooks and Isabella York. Married, lst, George Washington Cannon c. 1873 in Arkansas. They had five children: Thomas Herschel Cannon, Virgil Simpson Cannon, Owen LaFayette Cannon, James A. Cannon, and George Washington Cannon, Jr. Her husband died 14 December 1882 during the diphtheria epidemic in Huntsville, Madison Co., AR and is buried in Hindsville Cemetery, Madison County, Arkansas. Sarah married, 2nd, J. C. "Jessie" Ghormley c. 1884 at Huntsville, Madison County, Arkansas. They had four children: Elmer J. Ghormley, William J. "Will" Ghormley, John C. Ghormley, and Myrtle Ruth Ghormley.
