Parents: William D and Susannah Price Brooks Buried on Apr. 1, 1899 From The Huntsville Republican Lafayette Brooks died at his home Friday morning and was buried Saturday with Masonic honors. He was sick only about five days and on Saturday before he died on Friday he seemed to be in reasonably good health. He leaves many relatives and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. (The Springdale News April 4, 1899) When Lafayette left Tennessee he went to Missouri and then to Washington Co., AR, Sulphur City Community. Shortly before Isabell died they moved to Huntsville, Madison Co., AR. Four of his children and their families moved to Oklahoma in 1901 before Statehood in 1907 and helped settle Broken Arrow, Tulsa Co., OK. Fought in the Civil War for the Union in Arkansas.
