Bio

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 2, for Mr. John Calvin Johnston, 97 of R.R. 4, Scottsburg. The services were held at the Gene H. Vest Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Miller presiding. Interment was in Scottsburg Cemetery. Mr. Johnston died at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, December 29., of heart failure at the Shalom Nursing Home. He had been ill for several years. A native of Jackson County, he had been a local resident for many years and was a member of the New Providence Bapist Church. He was the son of Joseph H. Johnston and Elizabeth Smith Johnston. His wife was Mrs. Maude Johnston. Survivors included several nieces and nephews. The Chronicle Scottsburg, Scott Co., IN 1969 Jan 7; Tues.
