Son of Emanuel John Robert and Lillie Belle (Flanagan) Cox SR. James was in U.S. Army in World War II, he was Ambulance Driver (Red Cross) stationed in Germany. Occupation was Truck Driver. 1st marriage: Emma Kate Matlock, December 20, 1928, Surgoinsville, Tennessee. 2nd marriage: Lena Mae Matlock, July 20, 1946, Surgoinsville, Tennessee. Emma and Lena were sisters.
