MARY RUZICK OF LINWOOD DIED MAY 15 Mrs. Mary Ruzicka, 88, Linwood resident, died Sunday evening, May 15, at St. Mary's hospital in Columbus. The daughter of Joseph and Anna Koutnik, Mrs. Ruzicka was born in Bohemia Dec. 13, 1860. When 11 years of age, she came to the United States with her parents who settled in the Linwood vicinity. Mrs. Ruzicka was the last member of her original family to pass in death. Mr. Ruzicka died 21 years ago. Two sons, Emil of North Bend and Edward E. of Omaha, and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. The following children survive: F.C. Ruzicka of North Bend, William Ruzick of Omaha, Mrs. Sophie Bouzek of Linwood, Mrs. William Ptacek of Wahoo and Mrs. Cass McCormick of Fremont. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. On Sept. 9, 1879, Miss Koutnik was married to Frank Ruzicka of Omaha. They located on a farm in Colfax county and two years later moved to farm near Linwood where they resided until 1913 when they retired and moved to Linwood. Rev. L.A. Warren, pastor of the North Bend Presbyterian church, conducted the funeral service held at the Sellhorn funeral home in North Bend Wednesday afternoon of last week at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Scott Beadle, accompanied by Mrs. Harold Diffey, sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Abide with Me." Burial was made in the Killian cemetery near Linwood. Pallbearers - grandsons and great-grandsons of the deceased - were Alvin Ruzicka, Emil Ruzicka, Willis Walla, Fritz Ruzicka, Larry McMaster and Ronald McMaster.
