MIKE BARNES DEAD Expired In Oakland Saturday Afternoon. On Saturday afternoon last, Mike Barnes, for many years a resident of Chico but who some fifteen years ago removed from here to Oakland died at the latter place at the advanced age of 85 years. Mike Barnes Is well remembered by all Old settlers of this county as he for many years resided in the place where H. Carmack now resides and was well known throughout this section. In leaving Chico he did so to accept the position of Collector of the Port at Oakland and he has since made that place his home. Deceased leaves two sons and three daughters The remains will arrive 1n Chico on Tuesday morning's express and the funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of A G Litch, corner of Fourth and Wall I streets.
