ANNA KAVAN Funeral Services Were Held at Linwood Wednesday Linwood, Feb. 18 - Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Kavan, who passed away at her home in Linwood Monday, Feb. 15, were held from the ZCBJ hall in Linwood Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Fillippi of Clarkson officiating. Mrs. Kavan was born Ann Vopalensky July 27, 1854, in Czechoslovakia and was 82 years, six months and 19 days of age at time of death. She came to the United States with her parents in 1862 locating in Wisconsin, coming to Nebraska in 1873. To Mr. and Mrs. Kavan 12 children were born, six sons, James Kavan of North Bend, Frank Kavan, John Kavan, Joseph Kavan, Edward Kavan and Albin Kavan, all of Saunders county, and four daughters, Mrs. John L. Hoffman and Mrs. Rudolph Kouma of Linwood, Mrs. Alois Prochaska and Mrs. Charles Kubik, both of near Prague, who survive their mother. Mrs. Kavan is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Albina Beranek of near Ravenna, two brothers, Frank Vopalensky and Edward Vopalensky of Morse Bluff, 38 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
