The Dodge Criterion (Dodge, Nebraska) 02 Feb 1956, Thu Page 2 Vopalensky Rites Held Friday Morse Bluff - Edward Vopalensky , 87, died at his home January 25 after a brief illness. He and Mrs. Vopalensky had observed their 65th wedding anniversary in February. Born near Blue River, Wis., on Oct. 15, 1868, he came to Nebraska with his parents six years later. He and Miss Margaret Ann Shavlik of Linwood were married in Fremont, Feb. 17, 1890, and started farming south of Morse Bluff. In 1900, he went into the furniture and hardware business. He returned to farming in 1912 and retired in 1945. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Mary L. Race and Mrs. Emma A. Steiner of Fremont; four sons, Frank L. Edward R., William and Albert A. of Morse Bluff; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death. Services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Z.C.B.J. Hall at Morse Bluff. Mr. Vopalensky was well known here and was a frequent visitor here when his daughter Mrs. Frank Steiner resided here.
