Bio
Carrie Elizabeth Rothchild, the daughter of Albert and Lucy (Harkins) Wyatt , was born on September 29, 1913 on a farm near Webber, Kansas. She passed away on December 2, 2006 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 3 days. Carrie attended the Collins Rural School and graduated from the Webber High School. She was united in marriage to Delbert Rothchild on December 6, 1937 in Belleville, Kansas. This union was blessed with 7 children. She was a member of the Webber United Methodist Church, and was baptized and confirmed there on September 27, 1986. Carrie and Delbert lived in Seattle, Washington for a short time where he worked in the shipyards. They moved back to Jewell County and lived at Webber until 1945 when they moved west of Lovewell and farmed until moving to their present home east of Webber. Carrie enjoyed gardening, flowers and visiting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant granddaughter, and infant great-granddaughter, eight brothers, John, Hewlie, Cyrus, Edwin, Wayne, Albert and two of which were infants, three sisters, Margaret Edwards, Birdie Blair and June Hinkson. She is survived by 2 daughters, Shirley Crane of Superior, Nebraska; and Jana Tuxhorn and fiance Art Stokes of Columbus, Nebraska; 5 sons, Dennis Rothchild and wife Roberta of Mankato, Kansas; Daryle and wife, Janice Rothchild of Monett, Missouri; Delmer and wife, Glenda Rothchild of Downs, Kansas; Doyle and wife Phyllis Rothchild of Mankato, Kansas; and Marlin and wife, Cheryl Rothchild of Aurora, Nebraska. 23 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 10:30 AM from the Webber United Methodist Church in Webber, Kansas with Rev. Joyce Beam and Missy Wilt officiating. Music was "Good Night Down Here, Good Morning Up There", "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden" , with Kristi Rothchild as soloist. Congregational hymn was "Rock Of Ages" with Anita Cline as organist and accompanist. Pallbearers were Michael Crane, Bryan Rothchild, Travis Rothchild, Shannon Rothchild, Shea Rothchild, Erik Rothchild, Chad Rothchild, Kevin Tuxhorn and Ryan Tuxhorn. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons. Interment was in the Webber Cemetery at Webber, Kansas.
