Birdie Marie Blair, daughter of Albert and Lucy (Harkins) Wyatt, was born November 2, 1901, on a farm near Webber, Kansas, and passed away Tuesday, January 16, 1996, at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 94 years, two months and 14 days. She attended Collins Grade School and Mankato High School. January 2, 1923, she was married to Wilbur Blair. This union was blessed with six children. They lived and farmed in the Olive Hill community for many years. Wilbur passed away January 3, 1965. Birdie maintained her farm home for several years and moved to Superior, Nebraska, in 1972. In September 1992, she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; five brothers, Cyrus, Wayne, Ediwn, John and Hewlie; on sister, Margaret Edwards; and infant twin babies. Survivors include four sons, Wylie Blair and his wife Evelyn, Blaine Blair and his wife Yvonne and Burton Blair, all of Superior, Nebraska, and Stanley Blair and his wife Linda of St. Genevieve, Missouri; two daughters, Wanda Smith and her husband Roy of Thorton, Colorado, and Birdie Marlene Saathoff and her husband Robert of Superior, Nebraska; two sisters, June Hinkson and her husband Evon of Kent, Washington, and Carrie Rothchild and her husband Delbert of Mankato, Kansas; one brother, Albert Wyatt and his wife Frances of Webber, Kansas; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 20, 1996, at 2 p.m. from Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Rev. Robert Elwell officiating. Music was provided by soloist Carol Shambaugh singing "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere: and "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Albert "Toby" wyatt, Doyle Rothchild, Robert Sloane, Gary Wyatt, Delmar Rothchild and Ben Saathoff. Burial was in Webber Cemetery near Webber, Kansas. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, January 25, 1996; pg. 4
