Bio

Cecilia "Celia" White was the daughter of Mary Moore Green White and George Alexander White. She was born on June 4, 1886 in Hardin County, TX. Celia married Raymon C. Como on February 10, 1910 in Hardin County, TX. Son Samuel was born on November 16, 1910 and daughter Fannie was born on June 28, 1914. Celia and Raymon divorced before 1918. On December 4, 1922 they remarried and moved to the Goose Creek community near Baytown, Harris Co, TX. Raymon died from complications of influenza in 1926. Celia remained in Goose Creek and passed away from a cerebrovascular accident due to arteriosclerosis on May 16, 1963. Mrs. Cecilia Como, 76, of 310'/2 Defee Ave, Baytown, Harris Co, TX passed away at 2:20 p.m. on May 16, 1963 in a local hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home. The Rev. Lonnie Bolen of Central Assembly of God Church officiated. Burial was in Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Como, a native of Old Hardin, had lived in Baytown since 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all of her half-siblings. Survivors include son, Samuel George Como of Baytown; daughter, Mrs. Fannie C. Malone of Houston; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were E. B. Swick, C. A. Young, L. L. Woods, Bob Chase, Asa Moss, and H. L. Sanders Jr. Published by The Baytown News on May 17, 1963.
