Published in the Athens Review September 24, 1942 H.J. Dingler, 82, resident of Henderson county for many years died Wednesday morning at 11:10 o'clock at the family home near New York after an illness of the past year. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. Kelly, pastor of the New York Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in the New York cemetery. Mr. Dingler, born on April 20, 1860, in Rusk county, was a pioneer cattleman and merchant in Henderson county, having retired several years ago. He had resided on the farm on which he died since 1888. He was married on February 3, 1888, to Miss Mary Gauntt. Seven children were born to this union, four of them dying in infancy. Surviving are his wife and three children, Mrs. Ethel A. DeShazo, Guy T. Dingler and James Corbett Dingler, all of LaRue and New York, and two grandchildren, Miss Marjorie Dingler of LaRue and Talmadge DeShazo of Fort Worth.
