Teddy R. Garrett was born in 1904 in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County)son of James Powell Garrett (1869-1948) and Mary Lula Mobley (1870-1923). The 1910 Federal Census for Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) shows Teddy Garrett, age 5, born in Oklahoma; living with his father, Powell Garrett, a farmer, age 39, born in Alabama; and his mother, Lulu, age 39, born in Mississippi. The census shows that Powell and Lulu had been married 15 years. Also living in the household were Teddy's brother, Preston, age 7, born in Oklahoma; and his stepsister Flora Doty, age 17, born in Oklahoma. They were living on a farm they owned free and clear, next to Powell's brother, John Garrett. The 1920 Federal Census for Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) shows Teddy Garrett, a farm laborer, age 15, born in Oklahoma; living with his father, Powell J. Garrett, age 50, born in Alabama; and his mother Lulu, age 48, born in Mississippi. Also living in the household was Teddy's brother, Preston, a farm laborer, age 17, born in Oklahoma. The 1930 Federal Census for Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) shows T. R. Garrett, manager of a confectionary, age 25, born in Oklahoma; and his wife, Helen, age 29, an abstractor in an abstract office, born in Ohio. Ted and Helen apparently divorced sometime before 1940. The 1940 Federal Census for Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) shows Ted Garrett, presser in a tailor shop, age 35, born in Oklahoma; and his wife, Effie, age 35, a finisher in a tailor shop, born in Oklahoma. Ted died in 1994 in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) and was buried there in the Lexington Cemetery.
