Bio
Mary Lulu Mobley was born in July 1870 in Mississippi. Around 1892, Mary Lulu had married a man named Doty and had a daughter, Flora B. When Flora was two years old, Mary Lulu married Powell Garrett. They married on February 28, 1895 in the Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. By 1900, they were farming in Lexinton, Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Lulu's seven year old daughter, Flora B. Doty, was living with them. In 1910, Powell and Lulu were living in Lexington, Cleveland County, Oklahoma on a farm they owned free and clear, next to Powell's brother John. Their household included their son Preston, age 7, born in Oklahoma; their son Teddy, age 5, born in Oklahoma; and Lulu's daughter Flora Doty, age 17, born in Oklahoma. In 1920, Powell and Lula were still living on their farm in Lexington with their two sons Preston and Teddy. Lula and her son Preston both died in 1923.
