Bio
At Norway, Mich., Saturday, Aug. 13, 1904, John Gatherer, 84, died. Born in Scotland, he came to the United States many years ago, spending time in the coal fields in Pennsylvania before coming to Upper Michigan's copper mining district. About 25 years ago he came to Norway. He left a widow, 4 sons and 3 daughters, all married living in distance points. (Saturday, August 20, 1904, The Norway Current newspaper, Norway, Dickinson, Michigan.) He was a retired iron ore miner. Very little is known of him.
