Bio
The Norway Current (newspaper) Dec. 16, 1905 John Gatherer, who had been for some time suffering from cancer of the stomach died Tuesday evening at Colombia Hospital. Deceased was about 52 years old and was born in Maryland. Much of his life had been spent in the Upper Peninsula and he had lived more than 25 years in Norway, holding at various times positions of importance as a miner. He left a widow and 3 daughters, a mother and several brothers & sisters in various parts of the country. Of his daughters, 2 are married, Mrs. Phillip Burkhardt of this city and Mrs. Thomas Taff of Florence, Wis., and only other daughter, Eloise, being at home. (Researched by: KLH .)
