Shawnee News Star Aug. 25, 1994 2nd page, 1st col. James Madson Hogan Shawnee resident James Madson Hogan died Tuesday, Aug. 23, at a local hospital. He was 73. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with the Revs. Sid Tiffin and Marty Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Hogan was born April 23, 1921, in Saquache, Colo., the son of James and Ora Lee (Foster) Hogan. He attended Prairie Valley School. On July 13, 1940, he married Henryetta Owens at Macomb. Hogan was employed at City Packing Co. for many years before starting Hogan's Wholesale Meat Co. in 1970. He worked there until his death. His parents, James and Ora Lee Hogan; brother, Joe Hogan; and two sisters, Mattie Hogan and Beulah Smith, died. Survivors include his wife, Henryetta Hogan, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jim Lee and Delta Hogan, Shawnee; two daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn and Lloyd Burk, Ada, and Lawana and John Butler, Edmond; brother, Lester Hogan, Oklahoma City; five sisters, Marion Coleman and Lorene McKinney, both of Norman; Thelma Hatala, Springfield, Ill.; U.L. "Shorty" Yerby, Shawnee; and Hester Garrison, Riverbank, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
