John Lester Hogan Oklahoma City builder John Lester Hogan died Friday at his home at the age of 80. Hogan was born March 27, 1916, in Alma, Ark. to James M. and Ora (Foster) Hogan and attended Eagle and Haywood schools. He married Rosemary Ashmore on Sept. 10, 1960 in Reno, Nevada. He was a Jehovah’s Witness. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Joe; and two sisters, Beulah and Mattie. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Hogan of the home; two sons, Stephen Hogan of Reno, Nevada, Wayne Hogan of California; a daughter, Cindy Estell of Texas; two granddaughters, Michele Cathey of the home, Susie Robinson of California; five sisters, “Shorty” U.L. Yerby of Shawnee, Hester Garrison of California, Loreen McKinney of Norman, Thelma Hatala of Illinois, Marianne Coleman of Norman. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with John Cololuka officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Oklahoma City, with Douglas Emrich officiating. The Shawnee News-Star, Tuesday, April 2, 1996
