Thelma Irene(Hogan) Hatala Thelma Irene (Hogan) Hatala, 88, of Springfield, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Auburn, IL. She was born June 4, 1923 in Haywood, OK, the daughter of James Madison and Ora Lee (Foster) Hogan. On August 9, 1946, Thelma married John R. Hatala, in Cleveland, OH. Thelma and John traveled extensively doing the Bible Education work of Jehovah's Witnesses. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1999. Her parents, five sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving are: an adopted daughter, Agnes (Terry) Nunn; a sister, Hester Garrison; grandchildren, Matthew and Jackie Colonius, Sarah Colonius, Detra Ellis, Lamon and Canya Hudson; five great-grandchildren; special friends, Etta Harbour and Idella (Leroy) Slater; several nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial discourse will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 7 pm. at the South Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Springfield, IL. Matthew Colonius will officiate. Remains were cremated.
