Bio

Quinnie McReynolds was born February 21, 1915 in Bryan County, Oklahoma, United States. She was the youngest daughter born to William Frank McReynolds and Willie Maye Chappell McReynolds. She had seven siblings. Her and her siblings grew up in Oklahoma close to Hanna, Oklahoma. Her father was a share cropper and all the family helped when they were old enough. She married and they had one daughter in Dallas, Texas. They soon moved back to Oklahoma to be close to Quinnie’s family. Her husband died and Quinnie remarried Warren G (Bud) Pearce. They were married August 25, 1936 in Eufaula, McIntosh Co., Oklahoma at the home of Bud’s mother and step-father. She moved to California circa 1944. My memory of my mother is she loved to sew. She would make us girls doll clothes, mine and my sibling’s clothes and beautiful quilts, which I still, have one. Most of sewing was by hand. She was a hard worker, she worked picking cotton and cutting grapes, I remember spending long days and playing by the fields as she worked. Her and my father had ten children together, one passing shortly after birth. She was a woman of great faith and attended church often, taking her children with her. Quinnie McReynolds Pearce passed away Sunday, January 8, 1956, following a long battle with cancer. She was a loving mother to her children and loving wife to her husband.
