William Virgil McReynolds was born on April 29, 1907, in Chickasha, Grady County, Oklahoma, United States. His father was William Frank McReynolds and his mother was Willie Maye Chappell McReynolds. He married Nellie Mae Williams on September 5, 1928 in Okmulgee, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, United States. They had eight children together.
