Henry Michaud, a resident of Nuckolls County for many years, died Saturday, July 31, at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 23 days. Mr. Michaud was born Jan. 8, 1893, near Julian, Neb., the eldest son of Paul and Lena Michaud. As a boy, he moved with his parents to Knox County. They later moved to Superior. He served with the Fifth (Red Diamond) division Medical Corps in France for 18 months during World War I. He was a member of the American Legion and Nuckolls County Barracks No. 2275, Veterans of World War I. On Oct. 20, 1920, he was married to Manila Buckles of Nora and to this union two daughters and two sons were born. Surviving are his four children, Mrs. Leonard Erickson (Helen Marie) of Superior, Mrs. Gene Holsteen (Donna Lee) of Nelson, Billie Lee of Fremont, and S/Sgt. Bobbie Dean Michaud, who is with the National Guard in Lincoln; 17 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Minnie Shipman of Nora and one brother, Paul Michaud, of Lincoln. Services were held from the Megrue Funeral Home in Superior Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Maurice Holt of Nelson officiating. Military rites were held at the grave with members of St. Mihiel Post, American Legion and Nuckolls County Barracks, 2275, W.W. I, in charge. Interment was at Evergreen cemetery (sic).
