Henry August Hattermann son of Henry Hattermann.Henry August Hattermann married Sophia Warns on November 9,1886. 19 grandchildren 6 great-grandchildren _________________ Hy Hattermann,Sr.,86,Popular Local Farmer,Succumbs Final rites for 86-year-old Henry Hattermann,Sr.,one of the oldest farmers of this section,were held from Hubbard Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon January 27,with interment in the city [Odd Fellows] Cemetery. Rev.Wolf of Columbus Lutheran Church officiated at the services. Mr.Hattermann,who gained and held many friends during his nearly 40 years as a farmer in the Oak Grove section,succumbed early Monday morning after a week of serious illness culminating several years of failing health. Born in Oldenburg,Germany May 12,1861,he served in the German Army from 1881 to 1884.On November 9,1886,he married Miss Sophia Warns.The couple had 61 years of happy maried life,and in 1936 celebrated their golden wedding anniversary surrounded by their family and friends. Two years after their marriage,the Hattermanns and their son,Henry Jr.,came to America,settling at Holman.Fifteen years later they moved to Oak Grove,where they have lived ever since.Twelve children were born to them,four dying in infancy.Henry Jr. died last summer,and less than a month ago they lost a daughter,Mrs.Charles Otto,who died from injuries received in the windstorm here.
