Shiner Gazette Shiner,Tx July 1, 1982 MRS. W. J. "BILL" BAROS, nee Jannie Kasparek Mrs. W. J. "Bill" Baros, nee Jannie Kasparek, of Yoakum, died at 11 PM Sunday, June 20, 1982, in Huth Memorial Hospital in Yoakum at the age of 91 years, 1 month, and 13 days. Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM Tuesday, June 22, at St. Joseph Catholic church in Yoakum with Rev. John Peters officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Claud Jacobs, Johnny Jiral, Fred Pospisil, James Fait, William Grubert, and Ervin Pesek. Rosary was recited Monday evening at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Yoakum where the body lay in state. Mrs. Baros, one of nine children, was born May 7, 1891 at Old Sweet Home, Lavaca County, Texas, daughter of Frank and Johanna Folta Kasparek, natives of Czechoslovakia, who came to America about 1882. She was married to W. J. "Bill" Baros and, since 1920 had made their home in Yoakum. Four children were born to this marriage union. Her husband, a cotton buyer, died August 15, 1958. A son, Otto Baros (Olga's twin), died in 1949. Surviving are a son, Robert A. Baros of Yoakum; two daughters, Miss Rafaela Baros and Mrs. Ed (Olga) Malinek, both of Yoakum; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and son, she was preceded in death by her father on November 22, 1928; her mother on October 18, 1930; five brothers, Alois Kasparek on March 2, 1959; Frank A. Kasparek on November 1, 1964; Anton Kasparek on February 21, 1977; Rudolf Kasparek age 16 on May 16, 1910; and Joe Kasparek; and three sisters, Mrs. Louisa Adamek, the eldest, who remained in Czechoslovakia and died about 1970; Mrs. Frank J. (Antonia) Benys on December 29, 1971; and Mrs. Karel (Mary) Ermis on January 5, 1973. Relatives attending the services from Shiner were Mr. and Mrs. John Kurtz, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Martin Baros, Mr. and Mrs. August Wenske, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond F. Brosh, Mrs. Della Baros and Mrs. Emma Baros.
