Shiner Gazetter Shiner,Tx April 10, 1997 Robert A. Baros, age 83 years, 7 months and 4 days of Yoakum, died Sat Apr 5 1997. A wake service was conducted at 7 PM Mon Apr 7 at Buffington Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 2 PM Tues Apr 8 at the Buffington Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Burial took place at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery in Shiner under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home, Yoakum. Serving as pallbearers were Victor Novak, Robert Pargmann, Donald Johnson, Dudley Wayne Garrett, John Bitterly, and Kermit Thiele. He was born Aug 31 1913 in Cost to the late William J. and Johanna Kasparek Baros. He retired as a rural mail carrier in 1977 and had previously worked at Yoakum Gin and Feed Company, National Compress Company, Baros Bonded Cotton Warehouse, Tex-Tan Western Leather Company and owned and operated the Baros Feed and Mill in Yoakum. Mr. Baros was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II in the European Theater Operations. He was a 35 year member of the Knights of Columbus, a 50 year member of the Hermann Sons Lodge No. 18 and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Wenske of Yoakum; one sister, Olga Malinak of Yoakum; one grandson; three step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. Mr. Baros was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Alice Spann Baros on Jan 15 1997; his father on Aug 15 1958; his mother on June 28 1982; one sister, Rafaela Baros on Apr 28 1995 and one brother, Otto Baros, in 1949.
