Veronika Mauric was born on Dec. 28, 1871 to Josef and Katerina Mauric. On Oct. 24, 1893 she married John Patek Sr. at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas. To this union were born 6 sons: John Patek, Jr. (b. 9-17-1894, d. 3-9-1943) James Joseph "Jim" Patek (b. 9-17-1896, d. 4-19-1955) Charles Patek, Sr. (b. 9-12-1898, d. 10-6-1981) Vladik "Laddie" Patek (b. 3-22-1902, d. 3-9-1963) Jerome Frank Patek (b. 8-28-1904, d. 7-30-1972) Joseph Thomas "Joe" Patek (b. 9-14-1907, d. 10-24-1987) Veronika passed away at home on Sept. 24, 1943 at the age of 71.
