Other children, all b. in IL: Ellen (b.~1867); not in 1880 Census Daughter, probably died young --------------------------------------------- Sarah J. Musiek [sic] was born at Lincoln, Illinois March 29, 1834, departed this life at the home of her son, E.B. Duncan in Kearney, Nebraska October 28, 1917, being 83 years, 6 months and 29 days old. She was married to James F. Duncan at Lincoln, Illinois July 18, 1854. This union was blessed with 11 children, 6 sons and 5 daughters. Her husband, two sons and two daughters have preceded her in death, her husband having died at Valparaiso, Nebr., June 16, 1886. Mrs. Duncan remained his widow. She accompanied her husband to Kansas in early days, returned to Illinois and later accompanied her husband to Iowa in 1879 and to Nebraska in 1881, locating in Saunders County. She came with her children to Sherman County, Nebr. in 1898 where she made her home until the time of her death. Mrs. Duncan was baptized into Christ in early life and remained a member in good standing with that Church ever after. She answered the summons to come home Lord's day evening October 28, leaving 4 sons and 3 daughters, a number of grandchildren to tarry here till they too, will answer the summons and will take their place with those gone before. The funeral service were conducted in the Christian Church at Litchfield, Nebraska by her pastor F.S. White Thursday November 1st, 1917 at 2 p.m. using Revelation 22:14 for text. "Blessed are they that do His commandment that they may have rights to the tree of life and may enter in through the gate into the city." The following out of town relatives were here in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. S.J. Duncan: Mr. J.S. Duncan, of Pasadena, Calif.; Ed Duncan, Kearney, Nebr.; Mrs. U.B. Craven, Gracie, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Harve Coons, Mason City, Nebr.; Mrs. Maude Forcade, Ceresco, Nebr.; Mrs. Clara Giese, Alliance, Nebr. and Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Yingling, David City, Nebr.
