OBITUARY: 16 October 1986 - Vermillion Plain Talk, Vermillion, South Dakota HARVEY HUBERT Harvey F. Hubert, 91, Vermillion, died Sunday, October 12 in Dakota Hospital. Mr. Hubert was born August 6, 1895, in Rensslaer, IN. He moved with his family to Salix and later to Vermillion. He attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He enlisted in the Army, serving with the 22nd Engineers during World War I. He served for 22 months overseas as a French interpreter. He married May Coverdale June 17, 1921, in Vermillion. He managed the Farmers Union Oil Co. in Vermillion and then moved to California for five years and worked in a defense plant. After returning to Vermillion he worked as a carpenter and built many local homes. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Vermillion. Survivors include his wife; one brother, Ernest, Westfield, IA: one sister, Laurette Rodman, Omaha, NE. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Agnes Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m. today in the church.
