OBITUARY: 6 December 1934 - Dakota Republican, Vermillion, South Dakota (page 1) P. HUBERT DIES IN SIOUX CITY Former Resident Succumbs Tuesday Following Lingering Illness Funeral services will be held Friday morning in Sioux City for Pacifique Hubert, 71, former resident of Vermillion, who died at his home in Sioux City Tuesday morning following a lingering illness. After the services in Sioux City, with Rev. Fr. LaValle in charge, the body will be brought to Bluff View cemetery for burial. Mr. Hubert was born December 29, 1863, in Canada, and operated a farm most of his life. The family moved to South Dakota in 1903 from Olatha, Kans., and settled on a farm in eastern Clay county. Later they moved to the Donahoe farm in Spirit Mound township and from there moved to the city of Vermillion where they lived until 1925, when Mr. and Mrs. Hubert moved to Sioux City.
