Wife of Emil George August Lindeman. Daughter of Nicholas H. Ewald and Adella May Carson OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, January 23, 1986 LINDEMAN Mabel Carrie Lindeman, daughter of Nicholas and Adella May Ewald, was born in Russell on Oct. 9, 1897 and departed this life Jan. 16, 1986 at the Chariton Manor, where she had been a resident for six months. She attended a rural school and Russell High School, then took a Normal Training course at Cedar Falls. Later she taught in Lucas County and worked as a telephone operator in Russell before her marriage. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the TNT Club and was baptized at the Methodist Church in Russell as a child and has been a lifelong member. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two sisters, Ethel Kinkead and Hazel Moffitt; and one great-granddaughter, Kellie Lee Lindeman. She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Myrtle Whitlatch of Chariton and one half-sister, Gladys Snyder of Arkansas; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Now we blend their lives together. On Jan. 10, 1923, Emil and Mabel were united in marriage and they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary Jan. 10, 1986. Two children came to bless this home, Keith Lindeman and Carolyn Jeffries, both of Russell. They leave to mourn their passing, their son, Keith and wife Pat; their daughter, Carolyn and husband Bill, all of Russell; four grandchildren, Michael Lindeman of Denver, Colo., Jana McCullough Plummer of Idaho, Melodee Jeffries of Chariton and Nancy Throckmorton of Ankeny; four great-grandchildren, Kristie Lindeman, Kimberly and Adam McCullough and Jennifer Throckmorton; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
