Wife of Nicholas H. Ewald. Daughter of George W. Carson and Olympia Courtwright. OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Thursday, January 25, 1917 MRS. N. H. EWALD Adella May Carson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Carson, was born at Kirkville, Iowa, on April 23rd, 1874, and departed this life January 16th, 1917, aged 42 years, 8 months and 23 days. When she was about ten years of age, her mother died. The family continued their residence at Kirkville until the year 1891, when they moved to Russell. While living at Kirkville, she was converted and united with the Presbyterian church. She was united in marriage to N. H. Ewald on March 7th, 1895. To this union four children were born, Ethel, Mabel, Myrtle and Hazel, all of whom are living. Those whose hearts are most painfully touched by the absence of Mrs. Ewald are her husband, four daughters, her father, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Willits and Mrs. Howard Plotts, both of Russell, two brothers, Charles Carson, of Raywood, Texas, and Joseph Carson, also other relatives and many friends. After her marriage, Mrs. Ewald transferred her church membership to the Methodist Episcopal church in Russell, of which she has been a faithful and loyal member. During the past two years Mrs. Ewald had been in failing health, and in that time knew much of pain and suffering, but through it all she was patient and hopeful. Obituary courtesy of Charles M.
