He was born on August 15, 1923 in Post City, Texas to the late Raymond James and Dollie Ellis Hilburn. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired oil field worker, and a member of Victory Assembly of God Church of Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Hilburn, fourteen siblings, and a daughter, Dorothy Hilburn. He is survived by sons, Bobby Ray Hilburn of Longview, Ricky Glynn Hilburn and wife Chyrle Kay of Marion, Arkansas; daughters, Barbara Lutz and husband Al of Tyler, Vicky Lynn Gore and husband Glenn of Sulphur Springs; sister, Nadine Wilson of Ft. Worth; twenty-two grandchildren, and thirty-six great-grandchildren.
