Bio

Son of Anton L. and Stacie (Sabata) Svoboda. On November 2, 1935 "L.H." was united in marriage to Agnes M. Kulhanek at St. Mary's Cathedral in Lincoln, Nebraska. Louis and Agnes have lived many places over the years, and have resided in David City for the past 30 years. Louis had many jobs in life including a meat cutter, carpenter, tavern owner and cafe owner, and a farmer.. He was a very good businessman. He also was an avid gardener and sold his produce at farmers markets for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, Heritage Singers and the Heritage Club of David City, and the W.F.L.A. Lodge 68 of Brainard. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Son Danny Svoboda, Daughter Karla Magdalin, 2 great grandchildren Jason Alexander and Erin Svoboda. Brothers Jim, Joe, Adolph and Laddie, Sisters: Martha, Mary, Lucille and Mildred. He is survived by is Loving wife of 74 years Agnes of David City, Sons & Daughters-in-law: Gene (Ruth) Svoboda of Hastings, Ruddy (Mary) Svoboda of David City, Arnie Svoboda of David City. Daughter Beatrice Alexander (and Ed) of David City. Daughter in Law Linda Svoboda of Lincoln. Son-in-law Barry Magdalin of Canada. 26 Grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, 40 great great grandchildren. Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Rudy (Marcella) Svoboda, Cyril (Irene) Svoboda, Dennis Svoboda, Valerian (JoAn) Svoboda, Emil Svoboda, Margie Svoboda all of David City. Sisters: Rose Jakub and Elsie Ponec of David City.
