Bio

Robert Kiggans was my father. He did extensive geneology for the Kiggans Family for over 25 years. He was raised on a farm in Dart, Washington Co Ohio. But when he was 17 he joined the US Army and then got out and he came home to help take care of his ailing mother. After her health was back to normal he then again joined the US Army. He was in the medical field and retired in 1966 at Ft. Hood, Tx. After his retirement he had a few jobs around Killeen and Fort Hood and then he went to work for Mr. David Newby of Post Texas and ran and later purchased a car wash (aka Robo/Killeen Car Wash accross from McDonalds on Rancier Ave in Killeen) for which him and my mother had until 1983 when his health would no longer let him work. He then retired and went full time doing geneology research on his Kiggans Family. He died in July 1995 of pancreas cancer. His father died in 1940 when my dad was just barely age 12 the youngest of the kids. Contributed by his daughter Debra LaMel. Daddy was the 40/8 Voiture of the Year in 1994 in Texas and in 2004 they named a Chateau after him in Harker Heights, Bell Co TX a legacy few will ever come to know. My dad was always helping American Veterans in one way or another and I have tried to continue his legacy of also helping American Veterans any way I can. I am also married to a American Disabled Veteran who is currently also a Patriot Guard Rider. My dad belonged to the American Legion, The DAV, The VFW and the 40/8 among other orginizations as well.
