Obit for Semilda "Mella" (Fryman) Schlarp Kiggans (Died 9 Sept 1966 Dart Washington Co OH) Mrs. William Kiggans Mrs. Mella Kiggans, 84, died at 530 p.m. yesterday at her home at Dart. She was born Feb 20, 1882 at Rinard Mills, a daughter of the late John and Barbara Greathouse Fryman. She was married to William Kiggans who died in 1940. Six sons and two daughters survive: Harry Kiggans of Cambridge, Floyd Kiggans of Canton, William Kiggans of Chicago, Lawrence and Robert Kiggans of Killeen, Tex., Clarence Kiggans and Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Rake of Dart and Mrs. Ethel Moore of Wingett Run. There are 38 grandchildren and 88 great grandchildren. Four brothers and four sisters survive: Alexander Fryman of Marietta, Conner Fryman, James Fryman, Frank Fryman and Mrs. Mary Ritchie of Marietta. Rt. 4, Mrs. Florence Groves of Marietta Rt 5, Mrs. Annie Mead and Mrs. Margaret Grimm of Youngstown. One son, Ward, died in infancy, and one brother John Fryman and one sister, Mrs. Lucinda Blair, preceded her in death. Mrs. Kiggans was a member of the Church of God at Hall's Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Dounda and McClure Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home. Mella Fryman age 19 listed as Millie Fryman married Jacob Schlarp (occup Rig Builder) age 31 in Washington co OH on 23 Jun 1901 Jacob Schlarp died while trying to rescue another man by going into a Deep Well and both where overcome by Methane Gas another man went in after them but he was rescued. William Kiggans age 26 Mollie Schlarp age 22 married Washington Co OH 16 Nov 1904
